Ahhh the Serenity.....of a two stroke motor!!!

Hi everyone, it's greetings this time from Port Lincoln. I was going to title this post "I've been to Bali too" because of the crazy amount of travelling we've been doing, but decided against it.
Since last writing we have been to Victor Harbour, Kadina, Bute, Clare (twice), Waikerie and we are now in Port Lincoln!
I'd like to tell you that it's been hard work, and stressful, and all in the name of God and mission, but as the pictures will tell some of it has been just plain old fun!! Catching up with old friends and making new ones, has been a wonderful privilege, and we have been overwhelmed by the generosity and warmth of people. There is something about living amongst the family of God, that is very, very special. Mind you, if the suburb of Melrose Park near Adelaide city ever floods (what chance do you think I have??) I will be able to pack our bags for all 6 of us and enough food, and get in the car in world record time - I've done it so many times now!I think when we finally get to Addis and are staying put in just the one place, it will be a huge relief!
However like I said we have had alot of fun in our travels and here are some of the highlights.
In Clare we had an ethiopian feast, with injera, and wat and some snack bean mix. It was fun to watch people eat with their hands, and scoop the wat (stew) up with their injera (pancake) trying not to get it on their fingers or clothes! They were all suprisingly impressed with the taste
Yum yum Ethiopian food with Clare folks.

In Waikerie we caught up with old friends (the Schillers) from Lincoln days and went knee boarding on the River Murray. I'd like to say it was glassy, but the fact I had whiplash for the next 3 days tells a different story. It was still lots of fun, despite Shane and I having injuries from old bodies that can't do what they used to!!

Lucy and Oli floated over the water.
Tom and the Schiller girls. Ready steady GO!

While I found the River Murray and the smell of the 2stroke speed boat refreshing,  I must admit my all time favourite time this month was by the seaside (oh I do love to be beside the seaside)!! We had had a particularly busy Sunday speaking at 2 morning church services, and an afternoon tea - complete with a homeless alcoholic who wandered in to the hall and stayed to hear our plans!! It was great, because he was the most enthusiastic person there!!! I had also had no sleep for 5 nights due to Max having pneumonia and coughing all night (but that's another story!) and I was definitely beginning to wilt. We left town and went to my all time 2nd favourite spot Coffins Bay (yes Mum, the no 1 position is Victor!!). We sat down by the water with our friends, the water was lapping on the rocks, the kids havng a great time fishing and I felt the tension fall off me. It was one of those rare idyllic moments in life, when you can breathe deeply and just BE. God gave me 1 hour there and recharged my batteries. It was very special, and my whole head and outlook changed. I was so thankful, and the number of photos I took is testiment to this but hopefully these few tell the story.

Now this is serenity!!

Even the dog was helping us fish!!

The sky and water were both HUGE! So relaxing

So there you have just a few highlights of life on the deputation trail! I'm certainly making the most of any time I can near the water considering Ethiopia is land locked!! We are very thankful to God for his travelling  mercies, and also the way hearts have been moved by the Spirit to give, pray, and support us in the huge adventure God is sending our way! Thanks for reading.
Love Naomi
