Happy Birthday Kids

It's birthday month here in the Rubie household. Shane's was April 2nd then my 2 'babies' turned 7 on the 21st and Maxie turns 5 tomorrow the 26th. I can't understand where the time has gone!! I will be the first to admit that i have a terrible memory but I can still clearly remember when they were born - those sorts of things you don't forget!! But the rest of their lives feels a little like it has sped by and is all a bit of  a blur.
Maxie can now go to school. He says he will be a big school boy soon! Things change so quickly when that happens. I know everyone says you should appreciate them while they are so young and appreciate the days at home with them, and it's really true. It has gone so fast. I hope I made the most of them - I think I did. I hope I installed enough in them that has set them up well for the future. Reading parenting books lately, and they say the first 5 years are most important, and now they are all finished in my kids! Its too late now to go back to any of their 'first' years!
We celebrated April birthdays on Saturday by going with family to a small train park in the middle of surburban Adelaide that was gorgeous. Just down Goodwood Rd amongst lovely houses there is a narrow lane with a hundred people lined up and walking down it. At the end it veers left and opens up into a large lake with remote control boats, and 2 model railways that people could ride on. It was amazing, surprising, pretty, quaint, cute and great fun, despite the rain that began to drizzle down after a week of perfect, warm weather (the best week of weather I have ever ever experienced down at Victor Harbor!!) People obviously knew about it because they came from everywhere, and we were only one of about 5 birthday parties there. Only $3 for kids and unlimited entertainment - they just kept riding those little trains! I highly recommend it!
The other celebration we had in April was our 18th wedding Anniversary. Now where did that time go??

Toot toot! So cute!

Happy 5th Birthday gorgeous Maxie!

Nothing like a little steam on a steam train!!

  1. We LOVE that place too. You've just reminded me that we should take the kids there again.

    Happy (belated!) birthdays Rubies.
